This week's book
/Len Deighton's classic trilogy of (Berlin) Game, (Mexico) Set and (London) Match. Absolutely brilliant spy thrillers to rival Le Carre. They're not as slick a writing style as John, but the story sets a cracking pace and the hero, Samson, is a lovable rogue.
I still love them all these years later. You won't find technology wizardry as it's set in the seventies from memory, but it is a good solid spy story and the author obviously knew Germany well as he manages to bring it to life, down to the shadowy doorways and trenchcoat wearing baddies.
