Alex Cross - three thriller hearts

I'm sorry but I loved the James Patterson book but not so much the movie. Something fell a bit short for me and I can't quite put my finger on it. Matthew Fox was amazing as the nasty serial killer whom Cross (Tyler Perry) is after. His workout regime recently has been a bit more than an hour a day at the gym and carrot salad- damn but the man was cut with an eight pack on his six pack. Or something like that. You know what I mean.

I suppose I was disappointed with Tyler Perry (and I am sorry Tyler). You just weren't what I imagined Alex Cross to be. Idris Elba perhaps, or Ving Rhames, Isaiah Washington or my personal choice, Chiwetel Ejiofor. That's the trouble with reading the book; sometimes the film just doesn't meet your expectations (see Eragon, Inkheart..).

It was a good story so I don't know why it didn't translate well to film. It was watchable but I didn't quite jump into the story like I usually do. Sorry. Take it or leave it.
